March 2003. St. Patty's Day 2003 Celebrated at Tiffany's Place.
An early celebration of St. Patrick's Day for March 2003 was the highlight of this past weekend at Tiffany's Place, the teen center located in the lower level of Benton Hall on D Street in North Wilkesboro. Saturday night, March 15th and Sunday afternoon, March 16th.
Tiffany's Place was filled with youth from around the county dressed in green! High school students hung out at Tiffany's Place Saturday night playing cards, shooting pool and singing karaoke. Whether they had green on their clothing, green earrings, or even just their Tiffany's Place I.D. (because there is green on it),
they received free snacks throughout the evening! On Sunday afternoon, the phone at Tiffany's Place rang off the hook before the opening hour with several calls about wearing green and receiving free food that day! Almost everyone in the teen center Sunday afternoon was dressed in green, even the volunteers! Everyone was in the spirit and enjoyed the free food Tiffany's Place promised them! Each person that had some sort of green on or around them received a free bag of popcorn and St. Patty's Day cookies. The teen center director's were extremely happy with the turn out this past weekend. It is evident that the youth in the county are paying attention to what is going on at Tiffany's Place.
Flyers for the teen center were passed out to all of the students at the middle schools and high schools last week. The flyers provided information about the upcoming events at Tiffany's Place for the month of March.
High School schedule is as follows: Open Fridays and Saturdays 8pm-11pm
-Thursday afternoons 3:30pm-6:00pm
-Thursday, March 20th - Pick-up your brackets for the NCAA tournament contest…door prizes will be provided by: Lowe's Co., Cook's Sporting Goods, Oakwood's Country Club and The Candy Company, these prizes will be awarded to the winners of the contest at the end of the tournament.
-Friday, March 21st - March Madness party…deadline to turn in NCAA brackets and FREE HOT WINGS will be provided!!!
-Saturday, March 22nd - NCAA team spirit night…dress as your favorite team…most creative will win a free T-shirt.
-Friday, March 28th - TEEN CENTER WILL BE CLOSED
-Saturday, March 29th - local band "DSP" from NWHS will be playing from 9:00pm-10:30pm! These were events that occurred in March.
REMINDERS: We are still making I.D.'s for anyone that does not have one yet. Also, starting in April, the teen center will open to Middle school students only on Friday nights from 7pm-10pm as well as Sunday afternoons 2pm-5pm. Saturday nights will remain open for High school
